The main mirrors of large-aperture astronomical telescopes usually induce surfaceprofile fluctuation of working mirrors and hence affect the observation quality, becauseof their bulk size and heavy weight. In order to revise the surface profile in time, a set ofmulti-column support program is presented; this program makes use of a number ofcolumns to support the surface of working mirrors, which could result in the adjustmentof the surface profile of working mirrors. To make the simulation more realistic, the simuation technology strongly relies onsome sophisticated math-physical models and methodologies. The Finite ElementMethod (FAE) is one of them which were widely used. FAE is a modern computingalgorithm developed with structural mechanics analysis. It is an effective numericalanalysis method, which was widely used to solve other problems in mechanics.Based onthe foundational theory of FAE. This dissertation aims at the computation and analysisof the thermal deformation and temperature distribution of working surface profilesupported by multi-column, which is under the irradiation of high-power laser.Besides, for the sake of reducing the thermal deformation, this paper will optimizethe structure of these columns to some extent on the information technology. Theexperimental results show good agreement with the design requirements.
