Under working conditions, a new type automat has a higher dynamic unbalanced torque than normal automat. Base on the project background of the new type automat, this study analyzed dynamic characteristics of the up-and-down balancing mechanism.First of all, determine the working principle and transmission method of up-and-down balancing mechanism to achieve the bidirectional balance based on the project background and demands. In order to get the results of unbalanced torque during the bidirectional balance in static situation, analyze and calculate the gravity torque and balancing torque within the pitch angel of-7°~180°. Then design the spring, which is the working component of up-and-down balancing mechanism.Secondly, analyze the dynamic unbalanced torque of up-and-down balancing mechanism after a severe impact load acted on the new type automat. Within the offset limits of severe impact load, choose five offset positions as the analysis points of dynamic unbalanced torque. According to the results of the analysis above, calculate jitter amount of the spring and the changes of balancing torque to confirm the best and worst working way of up-and-down balancing mechanism. And then, analyze and calculate the time of the automat return back to the initial position. Finally, under the worst working condition, using static and dynamic method of finite element method to analyze the stiffness and strength of the important parts of up-and-down balancing mechanism. The results of this study have an important reference value for the structure design and parameter optimization of the up-and-down balancing mechanism.
