The Laser Designator that mounted on light weapons, is a kind of optical sights that can aim the near target quickly and accurately at night or low light conditions. Due to the Laser Designator has just stereotypes and equip the troops, so far there is no effective and convenient testing equipment that can used to correct its zero position. In this paper, we used the CCD image acquisition technology to develop a digitized instrument, which can detect the zero position of the Laser Designator.At the first part of this paper, some of the methods commonly used in Multi-parallel to the optical axis correction have been introduced, besides that we explain the structure of the Laser Designator and its principle, and formulate a total design that can detect the zero position using the technology of image acquisition and spot center positioning.Secondly, we complete the design and selection of the hardware of the detection system. According to the technical requirements of demand-side, we determine the technical specifications of the detecting instruments and relevant parameters on each component. An imaging objective lens is designed by ZEMAX optical software. The1/3inch SONY monochrome CCD is selected, that used commonly on the market, as image sensor of the system. Tinted glass is used as the attenuator that can weaken the intensity of the laser. And we select the T301type image capture card to complete the acquisition of image data, use the MC34063chip to design a boost circuit that can change the voltage from5V to12V, so that CCD can be powered through the USB port. And then design the structure of the whole system.Then, on the Visual C++6.0development platform, combined with interface functions of image acquisition card, we realized the function that can collect CCD image and locate spot center of the laser by using of the grayscale center method.Finally, we complete the procurement and machining of the various components, as well as the assembly and demarcation of the entire instrument. According to problems that appear in the design and manufacture of the early prototype, we do some instructions and give the improved measures.
