The flame monitoring system is an indispensable safety protection system in the industrial pulverized coal boiler,which ensure the supporting equipment work with state of safety,stability,environmental protection and efficient operation.It is helpful to improve the utilization rate of boiler and fuel,and reduce the production of harmful substances and environmental pollution.At the same time,it can prompt the safety performance,adjust the combustion state of flame in real-time,and avoid the explosion accident and fire extinguishing failure of the boiler furnace,which can protect the personal safety of residents and reduce property losses.This paper carried out with an engineering project of heating control system,and a flame monitoring system based on image processing has been designed,which can monitor and adjust the combustion state in the furnace in real time to ensure the safety,stability,efficiency and environmental protection operation of the coal boiler.Firstly,the development status and research trend of flame monitoring system are analyzed.Combined with the actual process and equipment conditions of industrial field,and the overall structure of flame monitoring system was schemed considering the influence of various field factors.Secondly,the combustion characteristics of the flame in the furnace are studied with the idea of mechatronics.An image acquisition and monitoring system that can work with the condition of high quality and sustainable,stable state in the complex furnace environment of high temperature.Then,the video image of flame was extracted to confirm the pollution source.The adaptive preprocessing module was built,the abrupt noise points of images were eliminated,and the image restoration was conducted with the filtering algorithm.Subsequently,the feature regions of the image were researched and the feature regions of the flame were extracted and identified.Edge detection and region segmentation were carried out on the feature region of the flame,the required feature region of the flame was extracted,and that region was sharpened to enhance the texture structure information.Finally,the characteristics of the flame image are obtained,and the characteristics that can describe the combustion state of the flame are identified and extracted.The combustion state is determined according to the variation of the characteristic quantity of the flame in different combustion stages and states.By constructing the communication among image acquisition system,MATLAB,PLC and inverter,realtime data transmission and control are realized.The control system is designed,and the control program is compiled,so as to realize the monitoring and regulation of the boiler combustion state and meet the industrial production needs of safety,stability,efficient and environmentally friendly operation.
