Magnetorheological elastomer(MRE)is a new branch of magnetorheological materials, It is generally made of soft ferromagnetic particles and polymer matrix, soft magnetic particles distribute in the matrix regularly or irregularly. MRE has the main characteristic of magnetorheological materials,such as magnetic modulus can be control by an external magnetic field, state can be switched quickly and so on. It can be made into a variable stiffness element of state-switch absorber according to that characteristic.The development course of dynamic vibration absorber is introduced in this paper, the traditional dynamic absorber, active vibration absorber and semi-active vibration absorber and each of their characteristics are illustrated. Intelligent controllable MRE be used for vibration absorb technology in this article,a extrusion type state-switch absorber be designed and Manufactured with MRE as it’s adjustable parameter element. MRE production process is introduced in detail to make an excellent MRE. In the absorber structure design process, ANSYS magnetic field analysis of finite element be used for optimization design of structural parameters of vibration absorber in this article. There is a strong nonlinear characteristic in MRE’ mechanical properties,so MRE’ mechanical properties are approximately descriptive by viscoelastic model and Magnetic dipole model, state-switch absorber’s frequency characteristic be tested by an experiment. State-switch absorber be applied to the cantilever beam’s vibration control, It has a characteristic of adjustable frequency and a broadband vibration absorb function are proved by simulation and experimental analysises of vibration absorber-cantilever beam coupled system.
