As a effective measure for coping with two big problems of "saving energyand reducing environmental pollution",Automobile lightweight has gain more andmore attention of the auto industry and plays a practical role in energy savingand emission reduction.Composite materials has many advantages which containslight weight, high specific strength, designable, excellent corrosionresistance and stable chemical performance, good shock absorption,wear-resisting, better self-lubrication performance,and the simple formingprocess, so lightweight materials gradually emerged in automotive direction,and also become a key in the development of auto materials technology.but compareto the application and research of auto parts and outer cover parts of compositematerial, the study of load bearing structure in composite frame car bodystructure is less.This paper choose the B pillar which is a typical main bearingframe structure of vehicle body as the research object,and establish a simplifiedmodel of the composite material B pillar based on the characteristics of thecomposite material structure design and the major function of the Bpillar.According to the design course of composite material structure,analyzation of main influence parameters and the influence trend of B pillarperformance is taken in concept design phase based on the simplified model ofcar body B pillar.This provides a reference for the composite material replaceof other body framework structure in the future.In this paper, the researching object of simplified model of compositematerial of the B column is a thin walled structure, and meeting the classicallaminated plate theory of compound material mechanics.then with compositematerial laminated plate mechanics combined with the finite element numericalanalysis as the theoretical basis, with business application software Hyperworksas a research tool, with the simplified model B column which meeting composite material mechanics in the classical laminated plate theory of as the researchobject,the finite element simulation and calculation is carried out.it isconcluded that relative to the traditional metallic materials, using the carbonfiber composite material B column for material replacement has the betterperformance and lightweight result.Finally, orthogonal experiment design of the car B column structureparameters in carbon fiber composite material is designed and the simulationis developed according to the orthogonal table.then the influence degree ofvarious parameters of carbon fiber composite material car B column to thestructure performance based on the simplified model is also studied.In the actualproduction,this provides the foundation for the lightweight design of the carbonfiber composite material B column,other body frame beam and the column’sstructure part.
