The Eradication Of Helicobacter Pylori And Correlation Study Of Syndrome In Tcm

The study on epidemiology shows that Helicobacter pylori is one of the bacteria that have the highest infection rate in the world and the infection of the same spreads out world widely. It is estimated that nearly half of the world population are infected with Hp, the infection rates of which are different by country, but nevertheless, it is lower in developed countries than in developing countries. A world-wide epidemiology research finds that the sufferings of Hp-related gastritis are closely associated with social and economic factors of different people. While the social factors are diverse, the prevalence of Hp infection varies in accordance with geographic location, age, nationality, race and gender and will bring about chronic gastritis, ulcer and even gastric cancer.Along with profound medial studies, it is found that Hp is connected to some other diseases in many hidden ways. As early as1994, Hp has been listed as the top-degree carcinogenic factor by WHO, but the medical treatments for the same has been hindered by ways of high cost, drug resistant bacteria, adverse medical reactions and inadequate compliance of the patients and so on, so that the Hp infect ion rate in the world is still increasing. As such, the cure and prevent ion against Hp has become a critical issue, which provides the Traditional Chinese Medicine with a wide platform to function with its advantages. Also, i t has become hot topics for the Traditional Chinese Medicine to help as follows:applying its "hoiis tic approach and syndrome dif ferent iat ion and treatment" on various physiques and syndromes, improving local pathology by regulating holistic function, enhancing eradication rate on Hp treatment, and rectifying the adverse reaction of the western medicines.Research Aim: Under the instructive principle of the theory of "syndrome differentiation and treatment" of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, this thesis is trying to unfold full analysis on the issues of gender, age, infection ratio and syndromes under the Traditional Chinese Medicine, etc., of the patients infected by Hp, discuss primarily the relationship between the Hp infect ion ratio and the said syndromes, and clarify the associated eradication rates of Hp infection in respect of symptom changes, so that the basis and precise instructions for clinical treatment could be provided.Research Approach: From November of2010to December of2011, I have chosen116patients, who were positive in13C-urea breath test (UBT) and met my standard, from the patients at gastroscopy room of the Dongzhimen Hospital Affiliated to Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. In the part of literature review, through information retrieval on the traditional, modern, Chinese and foreign documents, I displayed the present situation and excessive deficiency in terms of the study on Hp infection. In the part of clinical analysis, I located the Hp infection of116patients positive of13C-UBT, collected their clinical data for analysis regarding symptoms, physical signs and so on, ranked the said patients into seven syndrome types (spleen-stomach dampness-heat, liver-stomach heat, hyperactive liver-qi harmful to stomach, cold-heat complication, stomach-yin deficiency, spleen-stomach deficiency-coldness and congestion of stomach collaterals) in accordance with The Guideline of Traditional Chinese Medicine on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Digestive Diseases, which was compiled by the national specialists of the Sub-commission for Spleen-Stomach Diseases of China Association of Chinese Medicine and was publ ished in2006by the Press of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, and applied the Software "Spss17.0" for statistical analysis with the relevant medical information and summed up the causing factors and features thereof.Research Outcome:Analysis on the eradication rate of Hp infection in relationship with the issues of age, gender, addiction to tobacco and/or alcohol, DOB ratio of the patients who are Hp positive, P>0.05; Analysis on the eradication rate of Hp infection in connection with dining-out frequency rates, residential environment as well as the syndrome types under the Traditional Chinese Medicine, P<0.05.Conclusions:The eradication of Hp infection has no association with the issues of age, gender, addiction to tobacco and/or alcohol, or DOB ratio of the patients who are Hp positive, but is connected to dining-out frequency rates and residential environment, which will have impacts on the Hp infection rates, increase the difficulties of curing and lower the effective eradication rate. Regarding the relationship between the Hp eradication rate and syndrome types under the Traditional Chinese Medicine, this thesis shows that the detectable Hp rate is relevant to different syndrome types of the Traditional Chinese Medicine, the ranking of which goes from higher to lower is as follows: spleen-stomach dampness-heat, liver-stomach heat, hyperactive liver-qi harmful to stomach, cold-heat complication, stomach-yindeficiency, spleen-stomach deficiency-coldness and congestion of stomach collaterals.The research has also found that, with medical treatment, the Hp eradication rate has relations with the physical conditions under different TCM syndrome types of the patients. The eradication rates for the syndrome type deficient on spleen-stomach as well as the type of cold-damp mixture are apparently lower than those for other syndrome types, the evidence of which has proved the teaching of Dong Yuan which states,"All the diseases will come from the weakness of spleen and stomach". As Hp infection will further weaken and damage spleen and stomach, it will be followed with the deficiency of yang and the overwhelming presence of yin, and jump to the being of dampness and coldness, which has evolved from y in. This si tuat ion will intensify the degree of a deficient spleen-stomach as well as the cold-damp mixture and, decrease body functioning on resisting against diseases, the level of medical efficiency as well as the ability of curing Hp. It is made clear in the Chapter of Middle-Jiao of Differentiation and Treatment of Epidemic Febrile Diseases,"For the patients who suffer from the syndromes of deficiency, medicines will not apply." It is also presented in the Medicine Chapter of On the "Plague","A lasting deficiency of middle-qi cannot stand medicines." As such, it is recommended to carry out studies on Hp eradication in association with improving physical fitness with the Traditional Chinese Medicine so that we can safely and effectively enhance Hp eradication rate by means of promoting physical strength with the improvement of positive-qi, warming up the middle-jiao to supplement qi and invigorating spleen to remove dampness from the perspectives of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
