The current medications are efficient in the early stage of the disease, but it is difficult to keep treatment for a long time because of its side effects and dependence. Western medicine treatment, therefore, is not very effective in the long run. Growing attention has been paid on traditional Chinese medicine because of its unique theoretical system, overall control methods, as well as the exact efficacy for the treatment of Chronic Glomerulonephritis. It is particularly important to provide a theoretical basis for a better play to the advantages of Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic nephritis based on the inheritance of traditional Chinese medicine theory and the valuable experience of predecessors.According to the screening criteria, we collected110formulas of treatment of chronic nephritis and researched their prescription drug law. First, we arranged the medical cases which meet the inclusion criteria and established a database by using Epidata database software in Windows XP platform. Then, through statistical software SPSS17.0, we analyzed the whole242herbs from different ways, such as the nature of the drugs and the frequency statistics. At last, we used Complex System Entropy Cluster to analysis of relevance between the drug and obtained most interrelated single herb and key herb pairs.The common Chinese herbal medicine for the treatment of chronic nephritis, according to the statistical results, are mainly tonics and meanwhile, combined with medicinal herbs which have functions of eliminating dampness and diuresis, promoting blood circulation for removing blood stasis, cooling blood for hemostasis, clearing heat-toxin, clearing heat-toxin, dispelling wind to resolve exterior, astringing. These key herbs include:Atractylodes, Astragalus, Licorice root, Chinese yam, Poria, Alisma, Dogwood, etc.The core couplet medicines include:Atractylodes-Poria, Atractylodes-Astragalus, Poria-Chinese yam, Atractylodes-Alisma and so on. Atractylodes, Astragalus and Motherwort have the strongest correlation. Using Entropy Hierarchical Clustering Algorithm on the basis of the core combination of extraction, the final41key couplet medicines are obtained and we discussed their characteristics and applicability selectively.Based on the above analysis resultes, summarize the characteristics and the rules of formulae and herbal use in case of chronic glomerulonephritis.l.The causes of CGN are multitudinously, the pathogenesis are complicated, the clinical manifestation are differently and the treatment method are variously. Nevertheless, the treatment aiming at disease’s pathogenesis, on account of deficiency of the genuine and excess of the evil. In clinic, the treatment and herbal prescription based on syndrome differentiation will achieve better effects.2.Mainly used tonic prescriptions, trend to the medicine invigorating qi, especially tonifying the spleen、lung and kidney; supplementary the method of eliminate dampness and diuresis to relieve edema.Promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis and cooling the blood to stop bleeding, in order to alleviate the hematuria because of stasis of blood. The purpose of giving consideration to clearing away heat and poison, expelling wind to relieving the exterior is preventing body invaded by pathogenic toxin and wind pathogens. Just as take measures to prevent diseases from occur. Meanwhile, tonifying the liver and kidney to control seminal emission. Treating both the "branch" and the "root" simultaneously.3. According to the resultes of statistics, abstract the couplet medicines and drug regimen which are in common usage。 Based on the pathogenesis’characteristic and the particular of the pathogenic factor, choosing drug regimen which suit to use in clinic.
