Objective:Through this clinical research, intend to observe the effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine based on syndrome differentiation treating polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) with abnormal serum hormone and infertility. Methods:From June2010to October2012, select99outpatients with PCOS in gynaecological clinic of Guang’anmen Hospital. Those patients were conformed to the cases included and excluded in the standard. According to the TCM differentiation, they were classified into four syndromes of hyperactivity of fire due to deficiency of kidney yin, liver and kidney yin deficiency, stomach heat and spleen deficiency, liver stagnation and stomach heat, and deficiency of the kidney and depressed liver. Treat them with modified zhibaidihuang decoction, modified baishaomuli decoction, modified banxiaxiexin decoction, modified dachaihu decoction and modified duonang decoction. Overall treatment time was three months for PCOS with abnormal serum hormone, and six months for PCOS with infertility. Observe the menstrual conditions, clinical symptoms, acne score, serum T, LH, FSH, E2, PRL, FINS, HOMA-IR, BMI, gynecological B ultrasound, routine blood test, ALT, Cr and BUN of pre-treatment and post-treatment, and BBT two-way rate and pregnant rate after six months. The statistic method was respectively adopted the paired-sample T test or Wilcoxon’s signed rank test by using SPSS17.0statistic software.Results:1. There were71patients with ovulation failure,67patients with abnormal serum hormone in those99PCOS patients.30patients were with high T,34patients with high LH,26patients with high FINS.2. In30PCOS patients with high T, the distinction of T level was significantly different before and after treatment (P<0.01), but other hormone had no significant difference (P>0.05).3. In34PCOS patients with high LH, the distinction of LH level was significantly different before and after treatment (P<0.01). The level of E2, FSH, T declined in different degrees (P<0.01, P<0.05), but PRL didn’t (P>0.05).4. In26PCOS patients with high FINS, after treatment the level of FINS and HOMA-IR had reduced compared with the previous (P<0.01), and had significant difference. But other sex hormones had no significant difference (P>0.05).5. In67PCOS patients with abnormal serum hormone, the score of menstrual cycle, menstrual period, and menstrual color in patients with abnormal serum hormone had significant difference between pre-treatment and post-treatment (P<0.01, P<0.05), but that of menstrual volume and blood clot have no significant difference(P>0.05).6. In67PCOS patients with abnormal serum hormone, TCM symptom score, acne score and BMI in patients with abnormal serum hormone reduced after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant compared with pre-treatment(P<0.01, P<0.05). But the ovarian volume had no significant difference(P>0.05).7. In67PCOS patients with abnormal serum hormone, liver and kidney functions had no significant difference after treatment, in contrast to before treatment, the routine blood count, ALT, Cr, BUN had no significant difference(P>0.05).8. In the71patients with infertility, after six months’ treatment,50cases of BBT had improved, and33cases were pregnant.Conclusions:1. Traditional Chinese Medicine based on syndrome differentiation can reduce the high level of T, LH, FINS in PCOS.2. Traditional Chinese Medicine based on syndrome differentiation can treat infertility.3. Traditional Chinese Medicine based on syndrome differentiation can promote the menstruation, clinical symptoms, acne and BMI.4.Traditional Chinese Medicine treating PCOS has a certain degree of security.
