An era owns an era of literature. The appearance of literature has been affectedby the change of fashion of the time and material carriers. Nowadays, the rising ofpower of the internet brings up the network literature. The network literature can beidentified a brand new literary style because the network media has never appearedbefore. It can also be identified a kind of public literature which has product featuresas the same as the aging popular literature and typed literature. The media has onlypromoted to the development of the network literature because it is truly commodity.The writer is interested in why the network appeared and how it develops so fast.The writer also wonders to know what has the network literature experienced thatmakes it show the features of the popular literature, and the changes it brings toChinese literature. All above is the main content which will be investigated in thispaper.Chapter1responses to why it is. The writer will answer it from three respects:politics, economics and culture. The network literature was born in the background ofpolitical lifted of the ban, scientific and technological progress, market shocks andculture pluralism.Chapter2replies on what it is. The writer described the development process ofthe network literature in details and explained the low from Under the Banyan Tree toStarting Point which is the same process from free stage to market stage.Chapter3has drawn the existing outlook of the network literature. The writerrevealed a complex relationship between the network literature and the traditionalliterature through the similarities and differences of the two literary styles.At last, the writer shows how the changes the network literature brings are. Thewriter considers that the network literature makes up the popular culture and it is aperformance of culture democratization which has begun in modern China.
