Dance is one of the earliest kinds of artistic forms of human beings. Before therewas no languages in ancient, people passed their messages through body movements,pose and expression for the communication of thoughts and feelings. Dancing art is animportant part of country and national culture. There is an emphasis that put on thedancing education since ancient times in China, imperial dance and music institutionsof education were established in Chinese dynasties. However, because the practicaland visual traits of dance, the contemporary people just connect in mind according tohistorical records, without the true appearance that have been significant ever. Afterthe founding of new China, especially since reform and opening up, China’s dancingart start a updated revolution on a new platform.In this paper, we consider the dance teaching in universities as the researchobject; it illustrates the complete teaching system via analyzing parts of contents inthe process of teaching. It is divided into three chapters according to three major kindsof contents about dance education:Chapter One: Dance Performance. Dancing art has strongly skillful ability.Actors and actresses must possess multiple abilities of jump, pirouette, turnover,softness, opening and control, etc. And all mentioned above, based on a sturdy basictraining, finally leads to an influential emotional expression. This course includesclassical ballet, contemporary dance and folk dance, etc. All of them have an effect onraising the ability of perform in different ways. Ballet stresses basic ability,contemporary dance stresses the comprehensive development and usage of body, folkdance stresses understanding and grasping the traditional culture of China and playsan important role in expression training. Teachers ought to research major factors inthe existing curricula and some cultivation will be optimized and consolidated.Chapter Two: Dance Choreography. Choreographer is the leader and organizer inthe course of creating, rehearsing and performing dancing compositions. As the mainbody, choreography techniques have ever been overlooked by no one, nevertheless, how to enter dancing art’s palace smoothly is a more serious problem. In the face ofchoreography, students are always at sea, the key is the principle of differentialtreatment and the ingenious ways. When compositions have been appeared, theywould confront with if society accepts them, and the choice of dance theme is theultimate barrier that choreographer will face. The course of dance director not onlyteaches students with creating dance, but also good for their ability of performing,appreciating, organizing and leading. But all of these need teacher’s consciousdirection.Chapter Three: Dance Teaching. Education is to raise students’ability of danceperformance and choreography. But the contents of this chapter don’t aim at anyspecific curricula, just talk about linguistics and psychology beyond dance itselfwhich play an important role in dance teaching. Linguistic ability is a two-edgedsword in education, accurate and humorous language will definitely lead to animprovement in teaching efficiency, otherwise it maybe destroy students’enthusiasmentirely. Dance is group actions with face to face all day and all night, therefore,mental relation exists not only between single student and teacher, the mixture ofnumerous students and teacher demand that teacher must apply psychological ployperfectly. Finally, there are some significant points that are described, such as breath,rhythm and face, etc.The road of dance education in colleges and universities is strenuous andcheerful. Strenuousness implies that education is a strict work, and great efforts mayonly lead to a little progress; cheerfulness means that dance is a kind of art which isenjoyable, completely try one’s best just because naturally pour one’s heart into.
