Local separate regime politics is a very important event in political history during the Middle and Late Tang Dynasty. Wei Bo, as one of Hebei Province in the Period of Military Governorship of Tang Dynasty, was the typical model. Wei Bo was set after An-Shi Rebellion. Tian Chengsi was the first governor who set up numerous separate regimes by force of arms. Wei Bo holding the key position in Hebei had a very important strategic position. Wei Bo, with a large of population, has a very high economic level on that time. Military governor controlled one hundred thousand soldiers.Ya forces had arisen in Wei Bo and most of them were domineering.Wei Bo has sixteen Military Governors, including seven family names. Some of them were native of Hebei, working for a long time and getting Prime Minister’s title. A few Military Governors obeyed to the government of Tang Dynasty, but most not.The important strategic position and Military strength of Wei Bo decided the changing of relationship between Wei Bo and the government of Tang Dynasty, and affected other Military Governorship of Tang Dynasty. Wei Bo sometimes revolts, sometimes not by the whole environment and personal factors effects of, showing an unstable situation. According to the time sequence the relationship between Wei Bo and the government of Tang Dynasty can be classified into three stages:consolidation and self-insurance, allegiance to the government and half independence. Regime of Wei Bo performs in choosing Military Governors by themselves, and rebelling government with others. On the whole, Wei Bo was still under the rule of the government of Tang Dynasty, accepted the command and assist to the government of Tang Dynasty putting down the insurgency, and so on.
