Lu Xun's Novels Turn Conjunction "but" Analysis Of The Textual Function

Adversative Conjunction “Raner” was frequently appeared in the Novels Set of Luxun. It had aunique form of expression and unique textual functions. This paper is based on Luxun’s three Novelcollections: Nahan, Panghuang and Gushixinbian.There are33novels in total, and about190000words. The number of sentences collected which contains the turning conjunction “Raner” is236,and the collections number contains “Danshi”,“Dan”,“Keshi”,“Ke”,“Suiran”,“Buguo”,“Zhishi”,“Sui”,“Suishuo”,“Suishi” and “Er” in the turn relationship sentences is958. After access to a largenumber of literature and combined with contemporary new views,this paper’s textual functions ofresearch comprehensively use of the methods of statistics, the qualitative and quantitative analysis,comparison and conclusion etc.Including the introduction and conclusion, the paper has five parts.The first part is the introduction; it mainly discusses the topic selection reasons, the relatedresearch theory, research methods and corpus shows.The second part, including the forming process, the semantic and the main form of “Raner”.The third part is on the basis of the second part of the paper, it mainly discusses the uniqueform of expression and the influence factors of cohesion way of “Raner” in Luxun’s novels. Itincludes the expression of subjectivization, the preset of pragmatics, the choice of focus, work style,works characters status and writer style. Generally, the front three are the main influence factors.The fourth part discusses the main functions of the word “Raner”. The textual function of“Raner” includes the logical conjunction, the expression of subjectivization, indicating words,emphasized information, complement or additional information. Cohesion coherent function is mainfunction of associated words in the writing, the rest of the functions are based on this foundation.The fifth part is a summary of the whole article, and it puts forward some ideas for the furtherresearch.In this thesis, the first part and the second part are the establish foundation of the argument, theinfluence factors of “Raner” in the third part and textual functions in the fourth part are the focus inthe content.
