Zhao Shuxia is an important writer in world Chinese literature who started writingfrom 1970s. "Our Song" was well-received by readers. She created lots of works, suchas "The Unsuccessful", "The River Seine","sai jin hua" and so on. With the sensitivityof a "literature woman", Zhao presents to the readers her writings featuring abundantinner feelings. Works of Zhao is rich in Chinese complex and shows the sorrow ofChinese oversees. At the same time, it can break the mist and sorrow, singing a songof returning to Chinese culture. Certainly,there is a kind of critical consciousness inthe impassioned emotion, displaying deep love towards“our country”and“ourpeople”of the writer. Immersed in the powerful European civilization, Zhao Shuxiaalways examines the moral principles in Chinese family with a clear head; expressesher love to human nature and feelings in foreign country with a wide heart embracingall. Portray of love and marriage of Zhao reveals her own life understanding: therereally is a difference between ideal love and real one;“holding your hand andgrowing old with you”turns out to be a love fairytale which is unattainable forordinary men and women. This chapter mainly discuses the strong cultureconsciousness of returning to China in the works of the writer. The wandering of theoverseas Chinese is a common theme in oversees Chinese writers’works. However,Zhao is not immersed in the description of losing the root and she sings the returningsong enthusiastically. As a result, her works is filled with passion of converting toChinese culture. Rooted in the traditional culture, the writer cares for China in areasonable and clear way and her works reveal her deep love for her country andpeople. This is an important perspective to analyze the emotional factors in hernovels.Chapter two: reflect the family. This is the realization from the large“country”to small“family”. The description of family shows the deep reflection of the writer onthe Chinese traditional culture. Soaked in the vigorous European culture, Zhao Shuxiasees the order of the moral principles in Chinese family from a perspective ofintermingling of Chinese and western culture. The writer even describes the trivial inforeign families, and with a broad mind, she writes her understanding of family love.Chapter three: seek the love. Love and marriage is an important theme in works of the writer.
