| " The separation of the brothers" type story is one of the important story type in "LiaoZhaiZhiYi", but it did not cause enough care and attention of academic circles. In recentyears, there are only five essays, which with " the separation of the brothers" as the theme, somemonographs on these stories also just briefly deals with it but not deeply; as for the"LiaoZhaiZhiYi", the research of”the separation of brothers”story does not appear. In view ofthis, the thesis tries to have a in-depth analysis of“the separation of the brothers”type story in "LiaoZhaiZhiYi", from the historical origin, social background, the value of the meaning and otheraspects of a deep analysis, in order to reveal the story of the creation motive and culturalconnotation and why it spread over the long term, and thus further discusses this type of story intoday’s social life by practical significance.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter combs the origin of“the separation of the brothers”type story. Based onclear up and induce the customs of the evolutionary process , analyses“the separation of thebrothers”type story from the folk stories of literary creation, and divides the story range, typesand basic modes to this type of story.The second chapter defines the connotation of“the separation of the brothers”type story in"LiaoZhaiZhiYi", on which“the separation of the brothers”type story is identified as elevenarticles; at the same time, discusses the reasons of numerous“the separation of the brothers”typestory in "LiaoZhaiZhiYi" from three aspects: the society, economy and thought, the author.The third and fourth chapters are the focal point for this thesis. First, analysis and provesthat PuSongling has inheritance and surpass to the theme of“the separation of the brothers”typestory through the examples. He also criticized strongly to those women who provoke brother relationship,who not abide by the doctrine of women and those who are the viragos. In addition,“theseparation of the brothers”type story in "LiaoZhaiZhiYi" have great realistic significance, thatare the orientation and understanding to the culture of piety, and the advocate and confirm to themoral enlightenment in today’s society.“The separation of the brothers”type story involves family life and every aspects of thesocial life, in this thesis, we only discussed with“the separation of the brothers”type story in"LiaoZhaiZhiYi", combined this story type with the political and economy, ideological andcultural as well as the author’s own combination as much as possible, and strive to reveals theculture Implication and realistic significance from this type story in "LiaoZhaiZhiYi". Limited tothe research contents, range of the text, it is not possible to reveal all the problem that covers thewhole content, but the changes of social ideology and the family ethics in Ming and Qingdynasties are still be seen.
