In addition to the confrontations and conflicts between East and West in thesecond Berlin Crisis, the little-known conflicts also occurred between the UnitedStates and the Federal Republic of Germany in the Western alliance. Since the ColdWar, the United States implemented the policies of the Truman Doctrine, the MarshallPlan, to support the restoration and development of the Federal Republic of Germany,and supported Adenauer government’s decision-making on the issue of thereunification of Germany. On this basis, the solid, close relations of cooperationbetween the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany established. However,after the second Berlin Crisis, the relations between the United States and the FederalRepublic of Germany changed, thus affecting the intimate relationship between theUnited States and the Federal Republic of Germany, and even leading to a conflictbetween the two countries. A book called Debate in International Relations Theorysays,“the United League brings the two interrelated concerns: treachery andre-alignment, or referred to as abandoned and implicated." Clearly, in this BerlinCrisis, the relationship between the United States and the Federal Republic ofGermany faced the most serious challenge since the alliance established.So far, the researches on the conflicts of the second Berlin Crisis between theUnited States and the Federal Republic of Germany have not been studied so much,which are basically a mixed discourse in the second Berlin Crisis. Therefore, there isstill some space on this issue, and the discussion of it has an important value andsignificance in studying the international relationship between the United States andthe Federal Republic of Germany, the United States and Europe, the United States andthe Soviet Union, the German-Soviet and others.The first part of the thesis is carding the background of the conflicts between theUnited States and the Federal Republic of Germany during the second Berlin Crisis,which formed a relationship of support and dependence after the Cold War. While theeasement between East and West provided conditions for negotiation between theUnited States and the Soviet Union, and planted a hidden danger for the conflictsbetween the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.The second part clarifies the ins and outs of the conflicts between the UnitedStates and the Federal Republic of Germany during the second Berlin Crisis according to the logic of the development process of things from the beginning, the development,the climax to subside, the four aspects of three-dimensional and visualizationrendering virtues of the conflicts.The third part focuses on the reasons for conflicts between the United States andthe Federal Republic of Germany. The national interest is the starring point of acountry to enact a foreign policy, which is the analysis of different methods towardstreating the Berlin Crisis of the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.The personality factors of the U.S. policy makers and the Federal Republic ofGermany’s demanding rights of political rhetoric are also the reasons for the conflicts.The last part of the paper outlines the impact of the conflicts between the UnitedStates and the Federal Republic of Germany. The United States is the leader of theWestern camp, while the strategic position and overall strength of the FederalRepublic of Germany in Europe cannot be ignored. Therefore whether the relationshipbetween the two countries being steady or not will have an important impact on therelationships of the Western allies ,the unification of Germany and the domesticpolitical of the Federal Republic of Germany.The paramount of the interest of nation is an eternal theme of the internationalrelationships. Through the tough process around the year 1950, the alliance betweenthe United States and the Federal Republic of Germany established, however, whenthe Berlin Crisis arose, the alliance experienced a tremendous test. The two countriessolved problems and crises from their own national interests and strategies, thus thereinevitably existed disagreements, debates, and even conflictions. Through researchesand analyses on the conflicts between the United States and the Federal Republic ofGermany, we will form clearer and more comprehensive understanding of nationalassociation on the international community, a deeper comprehension and experienceof the original intention about the establishment of relations between countries, amore correct realization of the current international complex situation.
