Economy Class Study New Words

In this paper, we selected1580new economic words between1978-2000issued by Dictionary of New Words as the research object, the dissertation analysesthe new economic words on the basis of strong quantitative and qualitative analysis.The dissertation makes an attempt to discusses the cognitive mechanism of neweconomic words with the application of cognitive theories, such as prototypecategory theory, metaphor theory ect. And also, the paper analyzes and studiesmeaning generalization of new economic words.The first chapter defines the term "new words" and "new economic words",points out the purpose and significance research, and also indicates the source ofcorpus data and the research method.The second chapter studies the type of the new economic words. Thedissertation discusses the type of new words bases on the perspectives ofmorphology and the perspective of rhetorics.The third chapter discusses the meaning generalization of new economicwords, analyses the two approaches of non-specialization of meanings of neweconomic words: metaphor and extension.The forth chapter explanations of the cognitive mechanism of new economicwords. Category and prototype is the cognitive basis in the process of its’derivation; metaphor and metonymy is the cognitive form; association andanalogization is the cognitive clues, the principle of least effort is the cognitiveprinciple.
