During English learning process, learners will easily become lower motivated, andsome measures must be taken to regulate this circumstance to continue our Englishstudy. Thus, motivational regulation strategies are of great importance. However,motivational regulation strategies are still of little investigation in china. Based onformer study, the present study firstly investigates the current situation of Chinese EFLcollege students’ motivational regulation, and then examines the impact of personalityon motivational regulation strategies for the first time. In this way, we can know moreabout the present status of motivational regulation and it provides evidence forexplaining different achievements of English learners.Meanwhile, with the advocate of learner autonomy, researchers increasingly focuson ways of fostering learner autonomy. But there are very few empirical studiesconcerning the relationship between motivation regulation strategies and learnerautonomy. The present research innovatively analyses this problem. It provides a newvision to promote learner autonomy.
