Ever since “May4th” new culture movement, Chinese societyentered the transition period. Politics, economic, culture and idea allhad a major change. Science and democracy became the theme ofthe times. Literature and artistic creation of this period followed thetimes change, and appeared a lot of excellent writes.Early film songsborn and developed in this culture context. Early film songs, especiallytime images of early film songs not only had significant influence to filmsand popular songs, but also played an important effect ignore not tobe ignored on Chinese aesthetics Modernity and even Chinese modernaesthetics.“Spring”,“the four seasons”,“moon”,“evening”,“dusk”, and“morning” are all typical time images of early film songs. These timeimages expressed Chinese culture and modern spirit of early20thcentury with its implication. For example,“Spring” and “morning” showthat people have full of hope to future by contrast;“evening” disclosessociety reality with ruthlessly criticize, and communicates people’s spiritwith not only struggle and hesitating, but also condensing in the dark;“dusk” and “moon” stand for an ideal, wishing that it will describesociety life of quiet and harmonious, steady and good, although theirexpression and content are all different.Time images of early film songs not only have rich content,but alsoby marveling at the prosperity of the times,by creating time fields,andby making metaphorical symbols,these time images have created aseries of artistic exotic flowers. Besides time images have promotinginfluence to narration of film text. Film songs is an important part of filmcreation, so culture implication of time images, development of filmstory and theme’s sublimation mutually confirm and commonlydevelop. As same as narration of novel and poem, narration characteristic of time images of early film songs is one major part ofChinese narration manner, and it expresses the change of Chinesemodern narration manner. This narration manner changes thedeparted narration skill that is in accordance with sequencing of time,and makes Chinese narration manner becoming diversification.Time images of early film songs have acquired great developmenton the basis of traditional aesthetic factor. It makes modern cultureidea to its support, and makes advanced narration manner to itsmeasures, and plays close attention to the peoples livelihood, andexpresses significant Human Nature logo, and also forms uniqueaesthetic style, and demonstrate aesthetic features imbued withmodernity: being attracted towards the objective law of metabolism,yearning for the profound implicit idea of getting rid of the old to makeway for the new,and striving to realize the outlook on life that time andtide wait for no man.In the1930s and1940s, china is faced with uniquesociety environment, and national liberation becomes the mostimportant task. National consciousness makes film songs which are as apublic art form to cheer for the war against aggression. Culturemeaning of time images becomes specific and clear.It doesn’t havepast hesitate and is full of navy series of depending country.So timeimages on content clearly express resistance and replacementbetween new and old, and pure the “whoop” into the filmcreation,and convey active life attitude and courage of not fearingdark.In a word, time images are important part of film songs, and affectthe whole style of film songs in a certain extent. Doing research on timeimages not only helps us acquire a scientific understanding of the earlyfilm songs,but also provides useful reference for the present film songs,and even popular songs.
