The theory of human’s all-round development played a central role in Marxist theory and is the basic value goal which Marxism pursued. Further exploration of this issue has a certain theoretical and practical significance of deep understanding of Marxism thoughts on human’s overall development, implementing scientific development view, accelerating construction of harmonious society and promoting human’s all-around development and overall social development.There are altogether three parts in this thesis. Part one recalls the historical development of the human overall development theory. The embryonic stage of his nought is from his middle school to his Manuscript of Economics and Philosophy in1844. The initial development stage of his thought is from Sacred Family to Manifesto of the Communist Party. The symbols of the maturity stage are On Capital and Marx’s three famous manuscripts. In his late years, Marx gave some supplement and correction to the theory. Part two mainly explores the connotation of the human overall development theory. From the viewpoint of the human in real life, the author points out that human overall development is the development of human needs of various kinds and levels, the development of human ability and quality, the overall development of human relations, and the development of human personal characteristics. Part two discusses the requirements and avenue of the human overall development. The requirements are as follows, developing the productive force, eliminating the old-style division of labor, and training the subjective consciousness. The avenue of it is to develop education with all efforts. The third part shows the significance of the theory to contemporary society from three perspectives.
