Education and teaching fields contain human cognition, emotionalactivities and so on. Depending on applications-orientedpurpose,drawing on the processing efficiency theory and usingcognitive psychology research methods, the research focused on howstudents response to negative emotions engaging in high-loadpsychological processes for the cognitive activity such as students testanxiety. The research introduced the concept of anticipatory emotion.Basing on processing of efficiency theory, it explored how the negativeanticipatory emotion affected working memory under differentcognitive load conditions to reveal the allocation mechanism of thecentral executive system to cognitive resources. The results showed that:(1) the level of cognitive load and emotional potency of different levelsaffected working memory processing efficiency of trait anxiety groupsthrough central executive system of cognitive resource allocation. Thenegative anticipatory emotion does not necessarily undermine theindividuals cognitive processing performance under high-load tasks.(2)Individual engaged in different load levels of cognitive tasks in differentemotional context of the cognitive tasks of different load levels.Cognitive resource allocation model of working memory centralexecutive system of is different. At low load levels of cognitive tasks, cognitive resources are allocated to both cognitive tasks and negativeemotional processing. At high load, levels of cognitive tasks, limitedcognitive resources are allocated to the cognitive task. The mode isparticularly obvious in the high trait anxiety group.(3) Negativeanticipatory emotion has different effects on verbal working memoryand spatial working memory processing under different load levels ofcognitive tasks. Overall, the impact of verbal working memory is greaterthan spatial working memory.(4) Discrimination and subjective criteria based on signal detection theory can be used as reliable indicatorsmeasuring the processing efficiency.
