Herman Hesse is a German writer and his works known as Soul Books, are popularthroughout the world. With the influence of Taoism which he has admitted about it, hisworks are often developed in two polar ways. This paper is divided into four parts, whichaims to analyze the influence of Taoism indicated in Herman Hesse’s works, whichdemonstrate tolerance for individuality and human nature as well as multi-cultures in theworld. On the other hand, it aims to analyze Hesse’s pursuit of tolerance for individualityand human nature as well as multi-cultures under the impact of Taoism.
