Han Dynasty Lacquer Ear Cup Decorative Art Research

Han Dynasty is deemed as the most flourishing period of lacquer. In those days, the manufacturing of lacquer eared cups was overwhelming. The eared cups used as an implement while people are drinking was firstly seen in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period in Eastern Zhou era at which it was well-developed. Based on the outstand features in styling, texture and technology of the lacquer manufacturing in the pre-Qin period, innovation has been made in the process of producing the lacquer eared cups in Han Dynasty. More precisely, new decoration features have been found and developed, the technology has become more delicate, and the images shown are increasingly various. Apart from color decoration and drypoint, other ways of decoration have been used, such as gilded-bronze decoration, Kouqi and epigraph decoration. According to this, the manufacturing of lacquer eared cups is increasingly improved and shining its gloss.This paper selects the lacquer eared cups in Han Dynasty as the research object, combined with the correlation analysis the background of times its decoration art, and its development are summarized and presented, aiming at the typical ear cup for case analysis, finally obtains the lacquer ear cup in Han Dynasty of decoration art of the value. Throughout the Han Dynasty of lacquer eared cups development course, from the styling, pattern and technology and other aspects of analysis and research, and the Han Dynasty lacquer ware development status to make reliable positioning.
