Jia Xi Town Dialect And Mandarin Topic Sentence Comparative Study

Jia County lies in the Southeast of Yulin City, the northeast of Shaanxi province. And Xi Town is located in the southeast of Jia County. The Dialect of Jia county belongs to Northern Shaanxi language. With its own distinct characteristics, the dialect of Jia County is the typical representative of Jin language.This thesis studies on the dialect of Xi Town. It consists of four parts to do a comparative study of the topic sentence between the dialect of Xi Town and the Mandarin.The first part briefly introduces the geography, history and the population origins of Jia County. Also the overview, the dialect attribution and the language characteristics of Xi Town. Then explains the style of the thesis, including the significance of the research. Finally expounds the concept of topic, including the history of topic studying, the definition and the structure types of topic. According to the structure, there are four types of topic structure.The second part makes a description to the Topic sentences of the Mandarin and the dialect of Xi Town, comparing the dialect of Xi Town with the Mandarin according to the four types.The third part makes a detailed description to the Topic markers in the dialect of Xi Town, and the superposition forms of the Topic markers.These two parts are the major parts of the thesis, in which it analyzes the structure types of Topic sentences and the Topic markers in the dialect of Xi Town. Meanwhile, it makes a comparative research between the dialect of Xi Town and the Mandarin.The last part draws a conclusion to the whole thesis.
