Giuseppe Verdi, the great19th century Italian opera composer, devoted his wholelife to the operas. His26operas made the Italian opera to a new historical peak andmade outstanding contributions to the opera arts in the world. Now the great sopranoarias in his operas had been choiced as the model for many vocal music singers andlearners. Verdi’s works created in the environment of the different historical periodshave a distinct difference, regardless of subject matter, structure and artisticcharacteristics. Based on Verdi’s three representative soprano arias:“Ernani”,“Un Ballo in maschera” and “Otello”, also based on his creation features at differenttimes, this paper analyzed the background, thinking, connotation, and performancepractices of the composers. Then it distinguished Verdi’s creative line. This analysiscan help us grasp more precisely on concerton, avoid singing Verdi works overnight,and interpret more accurately on Verdi’s works.
