Modern Chinese Turning Adverb Of Tagging Research

This article based on the facts of the Chinese language, use a small class of adverbs:adversative adverbs as my study object, apply the semantic analysis, discourse analysis and focus theory, marking theory as a guide, to conduct a comprehensive survey of such words from the perspective of information tag, the text will analysis these words from the following aspects.First, define adversative adverbs and determine the object of this study. At present, the name of such adverbs is no unified conclusion in the academia. Some call it commentary adverbs and some call it modality adverbs. On the basis of previous research and combined with the basic semantics of these words, we defined them as adversative adverbs. The object of this paper is also based on the Modem Chinese Dictionary on the interpretation of such words, we filter our research terms are "fan""faner"、"fandao"、"jing"、"jingran"、"juran"、"pian"、"pianpian"、"dao""daoshi"and"qishi"Second, analysis the semantics of the adversative adverbs as the counter-expectation markers. We according to their semantic correlations to divide them into five groups. Then, determine such words in the discourse when they can be used as the counter-expectation markers in the text. Finally, we analysis the backgrounds of such words when they are used as counter-expectation markers, we find that the adverb semantics elements in turning the semantic elements generally will not be complete in the sentences, in line with the language of economic principle. We believe that the turning point in the basic semantics of the adverbs is a prerequisite to act as the counter-expectation markers.Third, analysis the pragmatic function adversative adverbs as the counter-expectation markers. In the language communication, the counter-expectation markers in the expression of meaning with the speaker’s emotional can express highly subjectivity and when they are in the chapters, their position are very flexible. You can assume indicates functions and vicarious function. We also research the focus and modality of them.Due to the characteristics of the counter-expectation markers, it is bound to occur, this will form the turning point. Therefore, the contrast to the focus of the performance of the counter-expectation markers is more prominent. the guide words are the highest intensity part of the sentence information, they can express the reversal of the state and unexpected state of the discourse.Fourth, analysis the counter-expectation markers function of the adversative adverbs. Turning the adverb anti-expected information function. First of all, through specific language facts to summarize the three types of the adversative adverbs as Markers in the discourse, they are contrary to the expectations of the speaker, and contrary to the recipient’s expectations, with a particular speech contrary to expectations of social sharing. Then use the relevance theory to explain the causes of the markers, from the three levels of the subjective level, communication level and discourse level to.investigate the markers.This paper is no longer to analyze the adverbs from the three dimensional perspective. Instead, we research them from a new view. I hope it can advance the study of adverbs.
