George Enderle Economic Ethics Thought Research

As one of the typical representative of the Western Economic Ethics, Georges·Enderle, the professor of international business ethics in University of Notre Dame, who has been engaged in the research of economic ethics for nearly40years. He made a significant contribution to the development of Economic Ethics. He proposes economic ethics should develop as a practice new subject in the worldwide, meanwhile, he holds the unique insights on the understanding of the corporate social responsibility, the wealth creation and the development of Chinese economic ethics.This article attempts to make comprehensive, systematic and deep-seated research on the Enderle’s economic ethics, Enderle’s main economic ethics thought is divided into four parts:a description of the economic ethics, the basic framework of understanding, the economic ethics as a practice oriented, problem oriented, globally oriented new cross discipline studies; second, elaborate it to the enterprise ethical insights, corporate responsibility including the economical responsibility and non economic responsibility, to the evaluation of the company not only to economic profit creation size was measured, more should be added to the ethical evaluation, while stressing the importance of individual leaders and the importance of ethics; third, carding on the development of Chinese economic ethics a variety of thinking, he thought in the new period of Chinese economic ethics faced a variety of challenges, from macroscopical on economic system and sustainable development into the microscopic individual moral construction, trying to seek out the universal ethics and put forward countermeasures; last, the creation of wealth and the understanding of the relationship between economic and ethics, he pointed out that wealth creation can only be interpreted as profit maximization, through the creation of wealth for the deep understanding and knowledge of economic ethics research, draw two between the inevitable connection, a Chinese wealth to create the correct path and thus interprets the idea on the background of Chinese social development in the new period, to evaluate the Enderle’s idea objectively, explore the practical guiding significance of the idea in the development of Chinese economic ethics and the construction of Chinese market economy.
