Anxiety and fear aroused by uncertainty situation in daily life drive individuals to deal with the relations among self, interpersonal, in-group and inter-group. Various kinds of uncertainty reveal different coping objects consistently. There are different cognitive coping mechanisms in Social Identity Theory (SIT), Uncertainty Management Theory (UMT), and Uncertainty-identity Theory (UIT). However, identify mechanism which are focusing on cognitive level cannot describe a complete model for individuals to deal with uncertainty. As a mechanism of emotional response, worship mentality is an intense and lasting emotional identity to individual, group, organization and human’s produce or natural phenomena, which is engendered unconsciously and suddenly by individual, group or organization in a diffuse emotional state or atmosphere. Worship mentality is common in life, while it also hidden in life. Based on the materials of classic psychoanalysis and on the angle of evolutional psychology, and applying worship mentality to interpret Oedipus complex, there are four characteristics as follows: role-change of the worshipper and the worshipped, the hidden crisis of uncertainty of paternity, the self-proving function of oracle, and certainty demands of worship mentality. Therefore, with the characters of variable and invariable, worship mentality always takes part in the uncertainty relations between individual and society positively.
