| Self-efficacy expresses the subjective judgment and evaluation about the individual ability of what I could do. It is the individual’s inner self-awareness process. Individual’s intuition to self-efficacy is self-efficacy. This dissertation aims to explore the self-efficacy of international students in Chinese learning as second language.This study is based on a spoken Chinese self-efficacy questionnaire, then text the statistical indicators by using the outcome of the questionnaires, finally form a spoken Chinese self-efficacy scale which consists of four dimensions and twenty-five items. A total of200international students, including those from Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing University and Shanghai Normal University, participate in the questionnaire survey, and115questionnaires are valid. By scientifically analyzing the data of questionnaires with spss17.02, a psychological Science statistical software, the article probes into the general distribution as well as the individual differences of spoken Chinese self-efficacy of international students, and explains the above analytic results with second language learning theory and second language spoken output theory.The results show that:(1)International students’generally spoken Chinese self-efficacy higher than the "special" Spoken Chinese self-efficacy, the complexity self-efficacy is lowest, Spoken Chinese accuracy efficacy higher than the efficacy of fluency.(2) There is no difference about the gender factor in oral fluency, accuracy, and complexity dimensions. Boys’generally spoken Chinese self-efficacy is significantly higher than girls’, which is consistent with the other research on self-efficacy.(3) International students’age and their length of Chinese learning compressively affect their spoken Chinese self-efficacy.(4)Spoken Chinese self-efficacyn has significantly differences on national and regional factors. European and American students have the highest level of self-efficacy both on Oral fluency and accuracy dimensions, the Southeast Asian students followed by Japanese and Korean students. European and American students also have the highest level of self-efficacy on general spoken Chinese self-efficacy; Southeast Asian students showed the highest self-efficacyon Complexity dimensions (5) the length of Chinese learning significantly affect the spoken Chinese fluency, accuracy and complexity self-efficacy.This study, to a certain extent, make up the shortfall of Chinese as a second language acquisition research in the field of self-efficacy, has important theoretical significance to explore the self-efficacy of Chinese learners.It also proposed appropriate teaching suggestions to help Chinese teachers get deep understanding about the Chinese learners attitude towards Chinese learning, individual differences and the conformation of Spoken Chinese self-efficacy. |
