Osiris is one of most important and worshiped gods in Ancient Egypt, about his myth spreaded and lasted more than three thousand years throughout the history of Ancient Egypt and had a far-reaching influence on religion and kingship. However, from different religious and political needs in different historical periods, Osiris Myth was constantly retold and interpreted forming today we known Osiris Myth version. To really understand the content and intention of Osiris Myth in a certain historical period, we must return to the current historical context. Therefore, this thesis selected The Pyramid Texts which earliest recorded the Osiris Myth in hieroglyphs as the study materials in order to research the relationship between myth, religion and kingship in this particular historical period of the Old Kingdom.The thesis can be divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly introduced the literature namely The Pyramid Texts and described the evolution and plots of Osiris Myth in other literature. The second chapter started with the specific spells by analyzing two aspects of Osiris’s image as the fertility god and lord of dead as well as Heliopolis theological system establishment to discuss the interaction between Osiris Myth and religion. The third chapter gave an exploration on Osiris Myth how to be adapted so as to publicize and strengthen the kingship by analyzing the conception of devine kingship of ancient egyptians as well as the different roles of Osiris, Horus and Isis in The Pyramid Texts.
