Isao Takahata Study Animation Creation

The Japanese animation master Miyazaki Hayao has been an international and domestic research focus.And Isao Takahata who set a studio with Miyazaki Hayao together was also a ghibli animation director,however,his brilliant achievements have been ignored, even some of his animation works were in Miyazaki Hayao’s name in our country. Actually,there exists obvious differences between their works:Miyazaki Hayao’s works were full of imagination, whose style was romantic; but the works of Isao Takahata always focused on ordinary people and were close to the social reality.He also respected earthly life and insighted into worldly wisdom, then the joy and heavy of life were recorded with time goes by.This paper analyzes Isao Takahata’s animation production completely and systemly for the first time,which not only has a detailed explanation to its animation works. but also deeply analyzes their aesthetic features from many aspects.Then it interpretes the unique value of Isao Takahata’s animation.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly introduces the creation of Isao Takahata and the research status on this subject at home and abroad, and the paper’s target. The second part is about Isao Takahata’s theme animation, respectively from the survival, growth, human nature. From these three aspects.Isao Takahata’s attention to humanistic feelings and concern to the reality are explained in detail. The third part is about his narrative strategy, which summarizes the narrative style separately from the shape of a prototype and literature narrative. The fourth part is audio-visual aesthetics of Isao Takahata’s animation separately from the fine arts design, voice, and video expression.etc, in order to analyze the unique audiovisual language. The fifth part is about causes of Isao Takahata’s creation from the director’s growth course and the environment as well as Japan’s national customs and cultural traditions.probing reasons of creations.
