The Primitive Meaning Of The Nature Of Modern Chinese Words

Adjectives is an important part of Modern Chinese, it represents the attribute or the state of people or things. The article briefly reviews the Modern Chinese adjectives classification, and introduce the four categories of sdjectives from Semantics. Based on the research of meta-language of the foreign, we use the quantitative vocabulary to define the Modern Chinese commonly used attributive words.Frist, this research makes a new definition of Chinese attributive words and descriptive adjectives, by taking the added level words and the added modified words into Chinese attributive words. This study determinates the words between the attributive words and descriptive adjectives from semantic standard, locational standard, primary standard and frequency standard. Meanwhile, using the four standards determinate the adjectives from the Syllabus of Chinese Words and Characters and Mandarin Three Thousand Commonly Used Vocabulary.279commonly used attributive words are finally gained after distinguishing and combining.Secondly, borrowing ideas from semantic classification system in predecessor’s dictionary, based on the principle of common, reference andself-examination, the commonly used attributive words are divided into three categories:the object attributive words, human attributive words and event attributive words. The object attributive words include visual sense, hearing sense, smelling sense, tasting sense, touching sense; human attributive words include appearance, moral character, interpersonal skill, event attributive words include judgment, degreement, content.Thirdly, refering to Modern Chinese Dictionary, using the Meta-language explanation as a research tool, explain the commonly used attributive words in the primitives-the same field, identify the rationality and soundness of the explanations by using the examples from the corpora created by the Peking University. Meanwhile, construct the interpretation model in order to change the traditional modes and characters in dictionary interpretation. Fractional interpretation models:resemble+relatively material+alike+category; describe+object+essential feature+accompany feature; object+act+feeling; object+possess+feature; cope+distance+big (small). Compositive interpretation model:object+features. Four interpretation models are gained from structure:paralleling interpretation model, subject-predicate interpretation model, verb-object interpretation model, adverbial modifier interpretation model.Finally, by using computer software for the vocabulary entry of Meta-language explanation to segmenting and obtaining statistics. Base on the results, we distinguish sememe and combine lexeme of the Meta-language explanation, to get the Meta-language explanation533, and to make up a dictionary of Meta-language explanation of Modern Chinese, and to get explanation patterns of directly opposite and describe...Meanwhile, carring out the contrast analysis of the Dictionary of Meta-language explanation and the explanation of the Modern Chinese Dictionary, we get the Dictionary of Meta-language explanation is superior to the explanation of the Modern Chinese Dictionary in the number of using words, distribution and common used of words.By using of mate-language-the same field-the same mode interpretational research tool to paraphrase Modern Chinese attributive words, and to construct the interpretation model. All these researches, will be conducive to the popularization of Chinese, and to teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
