Time-travel first occurred as a physical concept and was used by writers to createliterature works. With the development of Time-travel works, different type created, and sodid Time-travel TV series. As a popular phenomenon, Time-travel TV series are as muchpraised as blamed. Some people think time-travel TV series are new in style and vast inimaging space; they provide a platform for people in current social life to release theirpressure. While someone criticize that time-travel TV series are irresponsible for tellingpeople the truth of history. But it is the fact that time-travel TV series really attractnumerous people’s attention no matter praise or blames. What makes time-travel TV seriesso popular? The results may come from Multiple factors joints. On one side, thecharacteristics matters. On the other side, the combination of online media and traditionalmedia, the interaction of weibo, video websites and audience active dissemination are allimportant factors.The thesis will start from time-travel TV series themselves,first to comb developmentprocess of time-travel TV series and then analysis their characteristics and next, combinethe angle of media integrated marketing and audience interpersonal communication todiscuss the interaction among time-travel TV series, media, and audience and try to findout the reason of the popularity. After the analysis of hot time-travel works Palace andScarlet Heart, it could be found out that time-travel TV series themselves, media andaudience, these three could be key factors of the popularity. Time-travel TV series, as theinformation source, attract audiences’ attention with characteristics, the audience transferto fans----an initiative disseminator. The process to attract and to be attracted andaudiences’ dissemination cannot do without media as the bridge. With media, thecharacteristics of time-travel TV series could be presented to and be known by theaudience, and the audience can intercommunicate and disseminate extensively. At the sametime, the audience use media initiatively, so all promotion through media could be receivedby the audience and could get remarkable effect.
