The political development process of modern Egypt started in1952.After the “JulyRevolution”, Egypt gained its independence and became a modern nation,authoritarian political mode was established by Gamal Abdul Nasser. The feature ofthis mode is military regime in single-party state. As a new independent nation, Egyptchose a development route which could strengthen nation’s efficiency as well as otherdeveloping countries did in the political development process, and this choice playeda key role in maintaining regime stability and enhancing efficiency of rule. Theauthoritarian regime was inherited in the era of Anwar el-Sadat and MuhammadHosni Mubarak. The two presidents insisted on this political mode and make anycompletely change essentially, although they were respectively carried out democraticreform more or less in their own reign.This article from the perspective of political development has teased the establishmentand development of authoritarianism in contemporary Egypt, and explained itshistorical inevitability during the authoritarian political development in Egypt andfocused on the many political and social issues. By analyzing the development andhistorical evolution of the three main variables of the authoritarian regime in Egypt sothat the process of political development in Egypt has been got a comprehensiveunderstanding of: Egypt has its inevitability to establish authoritarian political model,temporarily solved the national security and stability problems in the history of thedevelopment, but accumulated deep political conflicts after half a century ofauthoritarian regime. At this time, its system defects become prominent. Especially inthe21st century, the global development and the democratization of information isbecoming more and more intensified, the authoritarian regime falls in trouble,eventually leading to the outbreak of social and political conflicts, which are the root factors of political unrest in Egypt...
