Research On The Democratic Thought Of LiDazhao Around The May4th Movement

Democracy is our persistent pursuit and goal in the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Successive leaders and collective leadership attach great importance to the democracy in the process of achieving unremitting exploration. In the report of the Seventeenth National Congress, our party gives democracy a new expression with a new height. Our party points out that democracy is not only the request of the socialist essence, but also the life of socialism. As an important democratic flag-bearer, LiDazhao’s democratic thought changes from bourgeois democracy thought to the proletarian democracy thought and firmly chooses the socialist democracy under the guidance of marxism at last. His democratic thought is typical, advanced and maturity. We study LiDazhao’s democratic thought around the May4th Movement,which has an important significance to the construction of socialist democracy and political modernization.LiDazhao’s democratic thought cannot be separated from the special historical environment in that period, through analyzing the historical background of his democratic thought,which can not only reflect the objective necessity of producing his democratic thought, but also reflect his strong political desire. We take the May4th Movement as the time clue.Before the May4movement, LiDazhao’s democratic thought has gone through three stages:around the Revolution of1911, studying in Japan and The February Revolution of Russia. We gradually clear how his thought change from the people-based thought into the bourgeois democracy and form the distinctive democratic thought. The outbreak of the first world war and The October revolution of Russia make LiDazhao awake to western bourgeois democracy thought which has unsurpassed shortcomings.At the same time, the new Russian democracy gives LiDazhao who is always in the dark the new hope.LiDazhao gradually begins to doubt the democratic bourgeois thought and begins to set up the faith of Proletarian democracy. After the May Fourth movement, the marxism comes into China, and LiDazhao begins to use the viewpoint and the method of marxist to analyze the actual problems that our country faces, he starts to realize the essence of the capitalist democracy, establishes the proletarian democratic ideas under the guidance of marxism, and finally completely abandons the western bourgeois democratic thought.LiDazhao’s democratic thought around the May4th Movement is the dialectical unity between the period and heredity. With his unique political sensitivity, he becomes the first director under the marxist guidance in China. He creates the new starting point of the democratic construction. History has its own life and the trite record could not show its fresh life, relying on what our posterity adds the new ideas of history to it. We take the period of the May4th Movement as the main line, carefully analysizing and researching the evolution process, the reasons, the significance, democratic content and features of his democratic thought around the May4th Movement, which not only aims to clear his democratic thought,but also aims to find the historical progress of existing under the truth. We take history as a mirror in order to promote our socialist democratic modernization.
