There have been so many changes happened in China’s political sphere and economic sphere since the reformation and opened to the world. Conformed to it is a group of middle class which is based with good educational background has been forming and strengthening. The dissertation is made up with the attention to middle class and the interesting of the consumption of them.The content of study includes two aspects. The first is, on the base of survey of Nanjing. Suzhou and Lianyungang, I analyze the consuming concept of middle class, the consuming behavior of middle class, the consuming construct of middle class family and the ability of economical adaptation of them. After these, I test some hypotheses which had been put forward at the beginning of this paper. The second is, combining with the conclusion of analysis and the interview materials, I analyze the back causes which affect the consumption of middle class further. The causes are the great pressure of reality, the short of feeling of safety and the lack of class culture.The research method is the combining of quantitative method and qualitative method. On the aspect of quantitative method, I analyze the data of survey with the SPSS and the concrete method is the descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, curve fitting and hypothesis testing to the conclusion. On the qualitative method, with the relevant theory and the achievement of pre-researchers, I use the method of unstructured interview to go further to the conclusion and conception.Talking all these analysis into account, one may find the following conclusion:1) The consuming character of middle class can be concluded like the consuming concept is radical but the consuming behavior is rational; the middle class follow after symbols when consuming; the pressure of middle class is big which can be seen on the diet and loan of house consumption make up the main percent of their total family consumption; the ability of economical adaptation of middle class is better. Because the female middle class has the equal educational lever and equal income as the male, the ability of economical adaptation of female is just as equal as the male.2) There are some common characters in the logic of consumption of middle class which is reflected on the definition of status through consumption, the reduction of pressure through consumption and the promotion of position through consumption.3) On the aspect of consuming culture, lacking of class culture make them been controlled by other culture on consumption which can be reflected as following blindly on others and floating like duckweed when consuming.
