The Research About "Kind Father, Strict Mother" In Chinese Urban Community From Sociological Perspective

The reform and opening-up policy has led to tremendous changes in China in the past 30 years. The family, which has been deeply influenced by tradition, is showing its new side. The structure and relationship of family are different from the traditional ones.In this paper, the writer extracted the "kind father, strict mother" phenomenon in the modern urban community and analyzed the phenomenon by the qualitative research. "Kind father, strict mother" refers to the difference between the father and mother in the process of their children’s socialization. The mother is always much more serious than father.The phenomenon is affected by many factors. Based on the theory of sociology, this research aims to find out the key factors from different perspective, such as macro factor---economy, policy and culture; micro factors---personal habitus, education and occupation background.
