Aristotle’s paricipative citizenship thought had a particular logical premise. On the one hand, he put the Ancient Greek special view of nature into his politicalthought and built Natural political view .On the other hand, affected by theAncient Greek value oritentation of superstate, Aristotle said man is a politicalanimal by nature , and then constructed Organism City-State view . Naturalpolitical view as a new logical starting point for Aristotle’s paricipativecitizenship thought including two sides. First, as a thought system view of nature.Second, as natural teleology that is a mode of thinking. In Aristotle’s view, man isa political animal by nature, so he must actively participate in City-State life thatis the only way to realize self by nature, and also to conform to the naturalevaluation standard to measure and judge the City-State of public life. OrganismCity-State view emphasize the important of City-States in nature and existing. On the one hand, City-State as a whole take precedence over the part by nature. On the other hand, there was no City-State, everything will be pointless, soCity-State as a social being take precedence over the part. Aristotle also laid outthe ideal society in his view in Politics, which connected with his paricipativecitizenship. Therefore, Organism City-State view as a important cornerstone tosupport his paricipative citizenship thought.Affected by the Ancient Greek Ethic Politics, Aristotle laid out his paricipative citizenship form the perspective of Ethic Politics. Aristotle’sparicipative citizenship thought include two levels, one is civic virtue that is alower level, the other is City-State virtue that is a higher level. The purpose of theCity-State is to have a good life and establish a harmonious city, based onculitivating civic virtue that, so to speak, teleological of civic virtue. Civic virtuehas political trait and political desirability. The political trait is that a good citizendoes not equate to a good man. Political desirability is that a good citizen shoudlearn to be a good ruler and also be a good governed. City-State Justice has twoaspects, one is to be a good life, the other is to seek a stable polity in reality.City-State Justice reflect in City-State virtue, which has two sides, on the onehand, public happiness is the pursuit of the City-State ideals, on the other hand,Aristotle said that come to the middle road of unity and master balance is a bettervalue selection for seeking a stable polity in reality.Aristotle’s paricipative citizenship thought have important realistic meaning. He want to save the City-State that was on the wane. His idea of paricipativecitizenship reflect the characteristics of salvation,in practical philosophy terms. And specifically, first and foremost, civic participative action includes threedirections of good life, conscience law, and civic virtue--realize good life is theprimary purpose; ruling of law is the system guarantee for civic participativeaction; civic virtue is intrinsic to civic participative action. Secondly, civicparticipative action based on civic virtue is the cornerstone of the City-State forstability. The reason is that civic participative action based on the virtues offriendship could help unite, which is necessary for City-State; civic participativeaction based on the virtues of self-control could resist temptation; civicparticipative action based on the virtues of wise lead to happiness.Aristotle’s paricipative citizenship thought contains some excellent elementsin his idea, such as public spirit and political participation, legal faith and ruling of law, civic virtue and citizen education. Based on theoretical view on Aristotle’sparicipative citizenship thought, we could find that they also have significance.First Aristotle’s common good and the relationship between public spirit andpolitical participation make us to know that common good can make politicalparticipation more active, more effective and more ordered. Second, His ideal oflegal faith and ruling of law make us to know that face the human weakness, foster legal faith, and we should obey some ruling requests in law obeying andenforcement. The third is that citizenship education is really very important topolitical development. Therefore, we must enhance the morality diathesis ofpeople, and strengthen civic responsibilities. We must carry forward moderncollectivism and dedication, and also have to practice, advanced practice fromcivic virtue. Only by these ways could we bulit a harmonious society and promotesocial progress and also renews the looks of our society.
