The negative effect brought by the climate change is one of the greatest challenges for the human beings. When the adverse impacts surpass human-kind’s bearing capacities, climate change-induced migrations are expected to take place. The climatic factor is not the only driver of climate change-induced migrations. On the contrary, the drivers are complex. The classification of climate change-induced migrations is as follows:voluntary/forced migrations, temporary/permanent immigrations and internal/international migrations. All of them will affect migrants, sources and destinations, regional and even international security. If we want to address climate change-induced migrations properly, we must manage it effectively.Asia-Pacific area has a large number of climate change-induced migrations and will have more, for the following reasons:adverse impacts of climate change, a lot of vulnerable people and a strong immigrant tradition. Thousands of people will leave their homeland because the rising sea level will submerge many places. Natural hazards has been deteriorated by climate change, such as drought, flood, tropical storms, so more and more people immigrate to safer places. At the same time, climate change will destroy the local natural resources and biodiversity so that large numbers of residents from Southeast Asia and South Asia who rely on natural resources may lose their livelihood. It can be predicted that there will be more and more climate change-induced migrations, in which the number of female and immigrants from rural to urban areas will continue to increase. Meanwhile, the climate change-induced migrations from Asia-Pacific area have their own features:migrants from different countries have different characters; more migrants are from coastal areas; more people will migrate twice or more.At present, the international community has not paid enough attention to the climate change-induced migrations. On one hand, the migrants can’t receive aid promptly; on the other hand, the ability to address climate change-induced migrations has been weakened. At the same time, due to lack of records and statistics, it is difficult to predict and count the number of migrations accurately. So does the flow directions. The paper consists of introduction and five chapters. Introduction describes the significance of this topic, the existing research at home and abroad, research content, structures and research methods. The first chapter introduces the theories and concepts. The second and third chapters introduce the impact of climate change on climate change-induced migrations from global and Asia-Pacific area respectively. The forth chapter presents the situations of the climate change-induced migrations from the Pacific small islands, East Asia and Southeast Asia. The fifth chapter analyzes the drivers, trends and characteristics of climate change-induced migrations in the Asia-Pacific region.
