Having suffered huge financial damages from crime, criminal victims urgently need help to restore these damages effectively. Only by restoring victims’damages can we successfully achieve the goal of covering victims" damages, protecting human rights, making society steady and eventually helping victims to return to the society. The current approaches restoring criminal victims" damages mainly consist of damage compensation, state compensation, insurance compensation and other restoring approaches. These approaches have played positive roles in restoring criminal victims" damages and relieved their financial difficulties to some extent. However, apart from the positive functions, these approaches also have many negative problems, which need to be further improved. Furthermore, aside from damage compensation which has mature and developed systems, other approaches are only carried out in experimental ways or can only play limited roles in restoring criminal victims" damages. Therefore, it is necessary to build an effective system adopting multivariate approaches restoring criminal victims" damages on the basis of advanced foreign practices and the actual situation in China. The thesis consists of four parts:The first part tells the necessity to restore criminal victims" damages. Starting with three typical criminal cases, the thesis analyzes the miserable state of criminal victims having suffered greatly from crime and cannot acquire any compensation, and then verifies the necessity to restore the victim’s damages.The second part tells the analysis of the current approaches restoring criminal victims’ damages and their effects. Combing with typical criminal cases and advanced foreign practices, the thesis analyzed the current approaches restoring criminal victims’damages in China and their effects.The third part tells the problems that the current approaches of restoring criminal victims’damages are facing. Combing with concrete social and judicial facts, the thesis analyzes the problems that the current approaches of restoring criminal victims’ damages are facing.The last part tells adopting multivariate approaches to restore criminal victims’ damages. With advanced foreign practices as reference, this part verifies the necessity of adopting multivariate approaches to restore criminal victims’ damages and each duty of multivariate approaches and their cooperation.
