Marxist Concept Of Happiness And Its Contemporary Value

With the development of China’s economy and the further construction of harmonious society, happiness of people’s life has become an important indicator of the society’s improvement, which has attracted more attention. China is now in a critical period in its social reform and transition, while the level of happiness of peole’s life has not been simultaneously improved following the development of economy and society. The diersification of the benefit main body and the multiple query of the transditional moral system have made people’s concept of happiness waver. Therefore, in order to make people’s life happy, it is of great importance and value to study the Marxist Concept of Happiness.The thesis consists of four chapters. Chapter one introduces the theories of happiness in the history of philosophy, expecially in the history of western philosophy and china’s philosophy. Chapter two deeply expounds the contents of Marxist concept of happiness, fully analyzes it from the main six aspects, including needs, labor, material and spiritual pursuits, individual and social happiness, enjoyment and creativity, self-realization and selfless devotion, and futher analyzes the characteristics of Marxist concept of happiness. Chapter three is the further and continuous development of Marxist concept of happiness in modern China. This part mainly analyzes the statements about the realization of people’s in some vital theories, including Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping’s thoughts about happiness, the important thought of Three Represents, the Scientific Outlook on Development and the theory of establishing a harmonious socialist society and so on. Chapter four is the main body of this thesis, which mainly explores the theoritical and pratical values of the Marxist concept of happiness in modern society. Marxist concept of happiness provides a correct theory guidance for us to further understand Marxist theory and the happy relationship of people, nature and society, and the direction of society’s development as well as realization of individual happiness. Putting the Marxist concept of happiness into practice is beneficial to construct socialism material civilization, political civilization, spiritual civilization and ecological civilization, and provide a harmonious social condition for people to realize’s their happy life.
