Research On Defective Products Recall System In China

As china’s economy grows and types of products in the market get richer, the safetyissues of consumers and their property resulting from products design, production anddistribution arose more attention. In some cases, foreign manufacturers take differentiatedpolicies in Chinese market. For instance, Toyota, a Japanese auto maker, and HP, theAmerican IT provider, did not implement the equal policies in Chinese market and their owndomestic market when they recall. When we analyze the specific reasons in our own, we finda fact that the recall system for defective products starts lately, develops slowly and is still notimproved. Besides, imperfect regulations and laws related to the system is the underlyingreason that these companies have a prejudice against Chinese consumers. In this sense,researching the recall system of defective products is not only the need of us to catch up theinternational level, but also has a realistic significance to protect Chinese consumers and putan end to the bias of foreign firms.The essay starts from the basic theory of recall system of defective products andanalyses the definition of recall of defective products, and finally sums up the features andsignificance of defective products recall system through comparing the differences of“compulsory recalling”,“three guarantees” and “defective products recalling”. The chapterthree summarizes the defective recalling system in the USA, Franc, and Japan by analyticalmethod. And the author hopes to give aspiration to the recall system for both foreign anddomestic defective products. The chapter four mainly shares insights of the status quo oflegislation of defective products, pointing out the deficiencies of China’s system. The chapterfive, based on the analysis of former four chapters, discusses what we should do to improvethe recall system in terms of legislation, specific regulations and supporting measures.Improve the relevant laws and regulations, our defective products recall system through analysis ofreviews of this article, not only from the legislation, but also to improve the work efficiency of theadministrative departments in charge of reform institutions, thereby contributing to the establishment ofour defective products recall system.
