We believe that value problem is an important entrypoint for the study of Chinese politicaldevelopment.Liberalism as the mainstream of westernpolitical thought is undoubtedly an important resource forlearning.This paper believe that the essence of liberalismis the product of western social and cultural contradictionsdevelopment,also the result of the growth of westernhistory,so can not be seen as “universal”. The same time,we can not deny that many reasonable elements of liberalismand ideas, so we should be good to draw the value ofliberalism based on the tradition and national conditions.This paper is structured as follows:The introductionpart, we analysis the background andsignificance of the question, and expounded the basic viewsand positions of the article, also a brief summary of thelimited research in the field.Chapter I: the contributions and limitations ofliberalism. In order to provide pave to the back, I use lesspaper to introduce the historical context and the evolutionof liberalism,to learn the different concerns of liberalismin different historical period of development; then give a dialectical analysis of liberalism, confirming it playsa huge role in promoting the development of the history ofmankind, analysising the inadequacies of liberalism in thetheoretical assumptions, ways of thinking and nationalfunctional concept. We trying to get rid of all kinds ofnoise to get a true understanding of liberalism.Chapter II: liberalism cultural traditions and theconcept of "universal value". The second chapter isessentially analyzed and evaluated from the western andoriental perspective of liberalism. From the Westernperspective, according to Huntington’s analysis, theuniqueness of Western civilization (individualism, the ruleof law tradition,for example), is the fertile soil moistureand the birth of liberalism; from the perspective of the East,the so-called "universal values" thory both in theory andin practice are unable to withstand the rebuttal.Chapter III: Enlightenment liberalism on the value ofChina’s political reconstruction. This section pointed outthat the market economy and special conditions determine thevalue of reconstruction is not just political needs, butalso the needs of the community. Liberalism in the followingaspects of revelation: the relations of individuals andgroups; state and market relations; freedom and equalityrelations; the rule of law.
