The thesis investigates the problem of competition law related to transnational mergers and acquisitions. It points out the difficulties of transnational mergers and acquisitions when it is in conflict with competition law in an independent country and brings about a series of regulation problems. The thesis discusses the indefinite nature of competition law and the flexibility of the law enforcement in terms of international business. It analyzes the difficulty of international organizations in regulating transnational mergers and acquisitions and the infeasibility of regional cooperation. Based on all the discussions, the thesis summarizes supranational cooperation concentrating anti-monopolistic regulation of transnational mergers and acquisitions and emphasizes that international cooperations are the only way to solve the problems.The first chapter introduces the practice of the United States, European Unions and Republic of China in terms of the regulating rules of competition law guiding transnational mergers and acquisitions. The second chapter starts from the extraterritorial effect in competition law in the United States, European Unions and Republic of China, exploring the rationality of the system of the extraterritorial effect in competition law, to show the importance of international cooperations in maintaining reasonable competition order. The third chapter reviews the international coopration and various agreements. Then it analyzes the feasibility of single control mode to seek the most effective international cooperation mode. The last chapter concludes supranational cooperation concentrating anti-monopolistic regulation of transnational mergers and acquisitions and emphasizes that international cooperations are the only way to solve the problems.
