Research On The Socialism Strategy Of Michael Hardt And Antonio Negri

Michael Hardt and Antonio Negri organized their socialism strategy by means of the analysis and deconstruction to the contemporary capitalism society-the Empire in their terminology, the Multitude born in the Empire as well as the Commonwealth created by the biopolitical production of the multitude. As the research to their theory is rising domestically, this graduation thesis gives concern and study on its context of words and main theory based on their achievements of socialism strategy. In addition, it analyzes their theory from the view of Historical Materialism.There are two ways of context of words for their socialism strategy. One is the reality grown out of the contemporary capitalism transformations, besides the Collapse of the former Soviet Union and East Europe as well as the changes in Italian Communism movement. The other is the ideological trend driven by the Post Modernism.In their main theory of socialism strategy, they analyzed the Empire from the difference between it and the imperialism, from the biopolitical production which would destroy it, and criticized it from two philosophy angels. Thereupon they created a terminology for the terminator of the Empire, the Multitude. It is the people with diversities, the masses with multi-elements. Its economical feature and political organization endowed the power and reason for it to overthrow the Empire and construct the Commonwealth. Hence the commonwealth needs to renew not only the institution structure but also the political organization structure on the policy of commonwealth’s control, organization and administration. After all, the reason of this is that private ownership limited and cut down productivity while the common ownership liberate and promote productivity. From this point of view, Hardt and Negri’s theory is considered to be the faithful extension of Marxism on the basic contradiction analysis of capitalism.This thesis also gives several analyses based on the Historical Materialism. For example, Hardt and Negri replenished and developed the "possession" concept, the justice theory and human’s comprehensive development theory. However, their theory could only be discussed in the philosophy conference rather than being referred by the government administration. It could be said that their theory would easily be used by the spirit socialism for its relativism and nihilism. Despite all these, their theory of socialism strategy offered us a long-range vision angel and their optimism will infect us for a long time just like the Communist Manifesto.
