The Research On The Ethos And Its Guiding

Contemporary china is going through a wide-ranging and deep-going transformation. With the profound changes in the social structure, forms of social organization and social interests pattern, various Ethos stirring. On the one hand, a variety of Ethos provides a theoretical choice for social change; on the other hand, it also brings risks for the social ideology. Therefore, how to explore effective ways of letting the system of socialist core values guide ethos and take the initiative in ideological work, respecting divergence and allowing diversity while effectively resisting the influence of erroneous and decadent ideas has becoming a big problem for the party in power.This thesis is mainly to argue the essence of ethos, to explore its law of motion and communication, to discuss the inner relationship between ethos and social control or social risks from the perspective of Axiology, to analyze the feasibility and practical effects of Letting the System of Socialist Core Values Guide Ethos, and to further seek the correct and effective paths of guiding the various ethos.Chapter1tries to define ethos, analyze its nature, characteristics and basic types and the inner link between public opinion and social ideology. It proves that Ethos is realistic forms of the populace evaluation activities.Chapter2tries to make an axiological approach to ethos, and provides three principles for evaluating ethos which are based on the survey of value evaluation, Evaluation Criteria, and Criteria of Social Evaluation. The three principles are: Subjectivity Principle, Practical Principle and Multi-Dimensionality Principle.Chapter3tries to make an approach to the formation process and communication of Ethos, analyze the influence to social control and ideology. Chapter4tries to summarize the mainly Ethos in Contemporary China, and analyze the feasibility and practical effects of letting the system of socialist core values guide ethos.Chapter5is the conclusion. The thesis argues that to Guide Ethos Needs to emphasis on the People-Centered-Subjectivity, responsible knowledge system and intellectuals, to build up the social ideology. While, above all, intellectuals are the crucial, they will provide a strong driving force for the nation’s progress.
