Located at the junction of the Europe and Asia, the Caspian Region possesses important strategic position. The Collapse of the Soviet Union made the originally two countries around the Caspian Sea into five ones, and these five countries have debated and negotiated on the delimitation issues for more than twenty years, which has not been solved properly yet. Knowledge about the Game Theory and geopolitics will be used in this paper, in order to analyze the background, development history, current situation and developing trend on this issue.The First Chapter traces back to the delimitation of the Caspian Sea, and mainly expounds the basic situation in this region, the background and causes of the issue. Geopolitical significance of the Caspian Sea lies in its special regional environment and rich natural resources. The Second Chapter illustrates the evolution of and countries’positions on the game of Caspian Sea delimitation, and analyzes three main stages of the issue and game situation between nations, after the creation of the problem, in detail. The Third Chapter analyzes the game of Caspian Sea delimitation. By using the method of game theory of quantitative and qualitative analysis, five countries’policies are grasped macroscopically in sequential way, and the game features in solving the issue are summed up as well. The Fourth Chapter is about the development prospect of the issue, and its influences on the regional security and economic development. The Caspian Sea delimitation issue has both the basis of cooperation and the stalling risk. The delimitation of the Caspian Sea exerts a significant impact on regional security, regional economic development and energy development, as well as on China’s energy strategy.
