At the present stage, new media develop rapidly. With micro-blogging as the representative, it has spread across the world and quickly took root in China. Many Chinese portals have opened the application of micro-blogging, and the number of the users of micro-blogging in sina and tencent have both reach a total of over500million in the end of2012. Micro-blogging has penetrated into people’s lives. It has changed the way of the generation of information and the mode of transmission, provided people with new channels to express their opinions and formed an important public opinion place, which also requires ideological and political education to follow up, takes active guidance of public opinions, and regulates its operation and development. At the same time, the emergence and development of micro-blogging also provides a new opportunity for the development of ideological and political education. Micro-blogging contains great value of ideological and political education and becomes one of the important carriers of ideological and political education at this stage, which plays a prominent ideological and political education function. To acclimate the times request and the social development and to follow the demand for the modernization of ideological and political education, it becomes an important task to effectively strengthen the application of micro-blogging in ideological and political work, to fully recognize and develop the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging, and to enhance the use of micro-blogging in the practice activities of ideological and political education. In this paper,the author wants to explore the general theory of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging and summarize the situation of the implementation of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging by the way of questionnaire, interview and so on. On the basis, this paper is ready to analyze its major implementation constraints and explore effective strategy to realize the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging, providing useful reference for the theoretical and practical exploration of the application of micro-blogging in ideological and political education in the new era. This paper revolves around the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging and its implementation and studies from the following four chapters:Chapter I:the meaning, characteristics and effect of micro-blogging and its contact with ideological and political education. The chapter analyzes the development, connotation, characteristics and effect of micro-blogging, to help recognize micro-blogging and expound on the possibility of the combination of micro-blogging and ideological and political education.Chapter Ⅱ:the meaning, contents and characteristics of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging. This chapter is a key part of the thesis, starting from the connotation and features of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging. It emphasizes specific content of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging, including oriented function, coordination function, communication function, assimilation function, and integration capabilities and so on. At the same time, it analyzes the main features of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging.Chapter Ⅲ:the analysis of the situation of the implementation of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging. Based on surveys and interviews, this chapter analyzes the situation of the implementation of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging, summarizes the main results achieved in the implementation process, sorts out the main problems in the realization of the process, and explores the main reasons for these problems, which is. propitious to propose the optimization strategy to improve the situation.Chapter Ⅳ:the optimization strategy of the implementation of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging. This chapter is the ultimate goal of the thesis. According to the main problems arising in the implementation process of the ideological and political education function of micro-blogging and its main reasons, this chapter proposes optimization strategies around the different levels, in order to provide feasible suggestions for the application of micro-blogging in the practice activities of ideological and political education.
