It is fact that a lot of incompatible and irreconcilable theories and beliefs, for instance, religions, philosophy and values, multi-coexist in democratic system in modern-day society. For the sake of helping people achieve their values, humans have to unite and cooperate. However, since Pluralism claims about the diversity of values, we needn’t to seek a universal theory to integrate these values. I think the idea of self and liberty must be resort to contemplating on substantive moral, which is not fundamental on universal or from the perspective of eternity, but base on different communities’values. As we known, Liberalism built on universalistic presupposition, in other words, it was grounded in such as human rights, natural law, general will, moral law, and so on. It regarded all individuals attributed to one homogenous framework. Therefore, everyone was equal to have the right and dignity. Nevertheless, according to ethics of authenticity, different individuals put in different circumstances will be endowed different criteria and significance. Taylor believes that the powerful pattern of Liberalism ignore the significance of which representative of different communities’culture and value. Due to the arrogance of it’s outstanding, the Liberalism trying to put the heterogeneity of culture and value into a homogeneous framework forcibly. For this reason, we feel the threat of cultural hegemony deeply. And because of the ignorance of the politics of difference, actually, Liberalism refused to recognize the equal status of different cultures and values in different nations.Indeed, there is no doubt that many political philosopher have realize the universalistic presupposition should be eliminated in the Liberalism, since they believe that Liberalism is merely one of the theories of different political idea. In any case, the idea of Liberalism has fostered the essential form of government and organized system of society, especially in modern-day democratic constitutional society. Owing to this view, some of whom flaunt him is political liberal attempt to classify the moral ideal such as "good life" into private domain. In other words, government should be remaining neutral about the question of "good life". The division of the private domain and public domain can solve the contradiction between Pluralism and Liberalism However, if we keep on silent about the ethical ideal may cause the useless of government which to promote the formation of the value in community. Overall, how to not only recognize the equality of different values, but also learn the essence of liberal theory to promote the formation of government, is still a question.Taylor is keen on finding that between Liberalism and Communitarian has the "cross-purposes". In short, Taylor claims that we should discern the differentiation between ontological issues and advocacy issues. Actually, these issues offer an opportunity to integrate the Liberalism and Communitarian. We can establish a society which is fundamental on the purpose of the ethics of authenticity, and the political formation of liberal. Meanwhile, Taylor enlightens me to probe the history of self-identity, and expound the significance of the politics of recognition. Therefore, most important of all, I want to achieve the final target—individuals how to use the power of authentic moral in a freedom way to achieve the goal of politics of difference in modern-day Pluralism.
