In the context that the development of physical training in campus has been stronglyfostered by national government and department in charge of education, the prevention ofsports injuries of university students majoring in basketball and their recovery play animportant part in promoting the development of future basketball career. Meanwhile, it has aprofound significance in forming a scientific outlook on health, education, and talentsthroughout the society, as well as improving the standard of physical training in campus andits all-round development. The main methods which were used in this paper aredocumentation method, questionnaire, interview, mathematical statistics and so forth. I havechosen210basketball majors as samples for studying the injury situation and its reason fromfollowing universities: Jilin University, Northeast Normal University, Jilin Institute ofPhysical Education, Changchun Normal University. The results imply that90.2%of thestudents have received professional training for more than3years and they don’t attach fullimportance to the injuries during the long-term training. The athletes in different tacticalpositions have different chance of getting injured. And for boys, the difference is significant, most of whose injuries concentrate on their knees and ankles, respectively accounting for91%and89.5%of the total number of the samples. The proportion each is37.2%and35.7%higher than that of heads and necks, which have the least possibility of getting injured. Bycontrast, among the girls, the injuries are evenly distributed, with very little distinction in theinjury rate among different parts except heads and necks. Girls’ injuries mainly focus on theirwaists, hands, knees and ankles, etc. There are two main factors leading to the sports injuriesof university students majoring in basketball within Jilin province. One is the internal factorsof the students, such as the attitude towards injury, the psychology in the face of injury, thephysical fitness of the students, the situation of warm-up, the distinction in technique moves, tactical positions, and the different injured parts of body. The other is the external factors, such as training time, sports load, arrangement of tactics by coaches and the externalenvironment. So my suggestions are as follows: firstly, we should correctly understand thefactors that influence the students’ injuries. Secondly, department in charge of education needto pay more attention to the notion that health comes first and attach more importance tohealth condition in management. Thirdly, the coach is supposed to make arrangements ofsports load reasonably and know the injury situation of students during daily excise. Last butnot least, the students themselves should also form healthy and scientific habits of life and thecorrect methods of training and competition.
